Do I need Reseller Shared Hosting or my own Dedicated Server
This is a question that we frequently hear, and see on web hosting forums everywhere.
In short, if you do not know the answer to this question, then you pretty much only need a Shared Hosting Reseller account to begin with.
Shared reseller hosting is the ideal startup situation for anyone wanting to sell a few monthly hosting accounts to help offset the costs of their reseller account. It is usually fully managed by the parent hosting company, who takes care of all the level 3 service issues, and handles all the technical stuff for you.
A dedicated server on the other hand, can be either a physical server box in a rack dedicated entirely to you, or a VPS server dedicated to you with the actual physical server box being controlled by the parent hosting company, while you and others share this box, you each have your own “Virtual” server.
With a dedicated server you will need to be very conversant with your operating system, eg Linux, FreeBSD etc, and be able to maintain and update both the OS and the hosting software system you deploy. You will need to be able to configure your own virtual hosting account, email servers, ftp servers etc etc.
In essence, with a full dedicated server, you are on your own baby!
